MAXXFORCE ENGINE SCR SYSTEM

The MaxxForce Engine SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system is a diesel exhaust emission control technology that uses a urea-based diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) to reduce the levels of nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from the exhaust of diesel engines. • A catalytic converter: This is a device that catalyzes the reaction between the DEF and the NOx emissions to reduce their levels.

The MaxxForce Engine SCR system is considered to be a very effective method of reducing NOx emissions from diesel engines, and is commonly used in heavy-duty vehicles such as trucks and buses.

The advantages include reduce pollutants and increase fuel efficiency and power, however, it would also have a drawback, like you need to have DEF tank filled in, and the DEF can be expensive for some of the owners, also a possible malfunction, although rare, would require more attention and money from the owner, as well a checkup from specialist mechanics to properly diagnose and solve the problem.
