Make: International
Engine: MaxxForce DT (2010 & Newer)
PID: N/A
SPN: 3242
FMI: 7
Description: DPFIT sensor or circuit fault
Troubleshooting:
The Diesel Particulate Filter Inlet Temperature (DPFIT) sensor measures the temperature of
the inlet temperature of the Diesel Particulate Filter. The Diesel Particulate Filter Inlet
Temperature (DPFIT) works with the Diesel Oxidation Catalyst Inlet Temperature (DOCIT),
Diesel Oxidation Catalyst Outlet Temperature (DOCOT), and Diesel Particulate Filter
Differential Pressure (DPFDP) sensors to operate and control the regeneration cycles of the
Aftertreatment system.
Probable causes:
1) Biased DPFIT sensor or circuit
Make: International
Engine: MaxxForce DT (2010 & Newer)
PID: N/A
SPN: 3242
FMI: 10
Description: DPFIT signal abnormal rate of change

FMI: 20
Description: DPFIT signal drifted high

Probable causes:
1) Biased DPFIT sensor
2) Partial short circuits in wiring
3) Alternative fuel in exhaust system
4) Doser leaking fuel into exhaust
5) Engine misfire
6) Restricted exhaust causing excessive Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) values
Make: International
Engine: MaxxForce DT (2010 & Newer)
PID: N/A
SPN: 3242
FMI: 21
Description: DPFIT signal drifted low
Troubleshooting:

Diesel Oxidation Catalyst Outlet Temperature (DOCOT), and Diesel Particulate Filter
Differential Pressure (DPFDP) sensors to operate and control the regeneration cycles of the
Aftertreatment system.
Probable causes:
1) DPFIT sensor not connected in exhaust system
2) Exhaust system not connected to engine
3) High resistance connections to DPFIT sensor
