Description: Soot Sensor Regeneration Error
Troubleshooting:
DESCRIPTION:
Soot sensor fails to successfully regenerate and clear accumulated ash.
MONITORED PARAMETER:
Soot sensor heater.
TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:
Soot sensor enabled.
MONITOR SEQUENCE:
None

Five seconds
DASH LAMPS:
MIL
ENGINE REACTION:
None
VERFICATION:
Verify repairs by using the diagnostic tool Soot Sensor Panel inspection routine.
NOTE: When the engine starts, the soot sensor will cycle through three modes: 1. Protective
heating of exhaust temperature dew point 210°C (410°F) to allow moisture to evaporate.
2. Heater active regeneration 800°C (1472°F) to clean soot.
3. Measurement mode for duration of key cycle.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
1. Bent pins.
2. Spread pins.
3. Corroded pins.
4. Unseated pins.
5. Moisture in harness connector.
6. Faulty wiring.

7. Faulty soot sensor.
