Description: Reductant Level Sensor “A” Circuit Electrical
Troubleshooting:
Aftertreatment Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Tank, Level Sensor has an indicator lamp and
gauge in the instrument cluster. A solid lamp comes on when there is approximately 16% DEF
remaining in the tank. A flashing lamp indicates when there is approximately 4% DEF
remaining in the tank. A 25% engine derate is possible if the DEF is not refilled above the red
line on the gauge at the next engine start up.
Conditions for diagnostic trouble code (DTC):
1) Low fluid level in the tank (Approximately 16%)
2) Low signal voltage from sensor
Probable cause
1) Low fluid level in the tank
2) Wiring harness
3) Aftertreatment diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) tank, Level Sensor, Temperature Sensor

Description: Engine Rear Start Switch “A” Circuit
Troubleshooting:
Conditions for diagnostic trouble code (DTC):
1) The function is monitored by the diagnostic system when the vehicle is being driven
2) Electronic control unit (ECU) connector A14.EA:55 monitors the function
Observable symptoms
1) Engine Rear Start Switch “A” Circuit is not activated when requested
Probable cause
1) Connector
2) Wiring harness
3) Engine Rear Start Switch

Troubleshooting:
Conditions for diagnostic trouble code (DTC):
1) The function is monitored by the diagnostic system when the vehicle is being driven
2) Electronic control unit (ECU) connector A14.EA:27 monitors the function
Observable symptoms
1) The stop switch does not work
2) Probable cause
3) Connector
4) Engine stop switch
5) Open circuit electric cables

Description: Manifold Absolute Pressure Too High
Troubleshooting:
The Boost Air Pressure Sensor is used to monitor the pressure of the air in the intake system
after the turbocharger. The sensor consists of a pressure sensitive diaphragm/amplifier sensor.
Air pressure causes the sensors diaphragm to deflect and produce an electrical signal
proportional to the pressure. The diaphragm deflection signal is amplified in the sensor.
The sensor signals are used to calculation fuel injection and is monitored by the Engine Control
Module (ECM).
The engine control module (ECM) will set a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) and derate the
engine to avoid engine damage if the sensor signal is not within predetermined limits, or the
signal is not rational.
Conditions for diagnostic trouble code (DTC):
1) Charge pressure High
Observable symptoms
1) Engine derate according to error torque map
Probable cause
1) Actuator
2) Intake manifold air temperature (IMAT) and pressure sensor
3) By-pass shutter
