Monitor Strategy: Poor device
Fault Limit: Invalid Signal for more than 5 seconds
Enable Criteria:
Engine Speed more than 550 RPM
Battery Voltage within 11-16 Volts

Description: Aftertreatment 1 Diesel Particulate Filter Differential Pressure Too Low (Bank 1)
Troubleshooting:
The function identifies and indicates malfunction of the aftertreatment diesel particulate filter
(DPF) by analyzing the pressure drop over the aftertreatment DPF. This is done by making a
check for deviation between sensor value and a model pressure drop. In some extreme cases
the engine will derate.
Conditions for diagnostic trouble code (DTC):
1) DPF Differential pressure too low
Observable symptoms
1) None
Probable cause
1) DPF Sensor lines connected incorrectly
2) Differential pressure sensor lines plugged or damaged
3) Aftertreatment DPF Differential Pressure Sensor
4) Aftertreatment Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF)
5) Exhaust leakage prior to the aftertreatment diesel particulate filter (DPF) unit.

Description: Diesel Particulate Filter Regeneration Frequency (Bank 1)
Troubleshooting:
This diagnostic function detects if the regeneration frequency increases to a level such that it
would cause the emissions to exceed the OBD threshold or if the frequency exceeds the
design requirements.
The number of completed regenerations during a defined time period is counted. If the number
of regenerations are above threshold at the end of the time period fault is reported.
Conditions for diagnostic trouble code (DTC):
1) Regeneration successful but too frequent
Observable symptoms
1) DPF Regeneration too frequent
Probable cause
1) Aftertreatment DPF Differential Pressure Sensor
2) EGR System
3) Aftertreatment diesel particulate filter (DPF) is damaged, soot loaded or missing
4) Excessive ash in DPF.

Description: Excessive Time To Enter Closed Loop DPF Regeneration Coil
Troubleshooting:
This diagnostic function monitors the systems ability to maintain and regulate the DPF
temperatures within acceptable limits based on current conditions like normal operation or
during regenerations.
Conditions for diagnostic trouble code (DTC):
1) Placeholder regeneration target temperature cannot be reached
Observable symptoms
1) Regeneration not possible
Probable cause
1) Charge air system
2) Exhaust system
3) Aftertreatment fuel system

Description: Exhaust Aftertreatment Fuel Air Purge Valve Control Circuit
Troubleshooting:
The Aftertreatment Hydrocarbon Dosing Module contains three non serviceable valves, the
Aftertreatment Fuel Shutoff Valve, Aftertreatment Purge Air Valve and Aftertreatment
Hydrocarbon Dosing Valve, and a serviceable Aftertreatment Fuel Pressure Sensor.
During Air Purge operation the Engine Control Module (ECM) sends a voltage signal to activate
the Aftertreatment Purge Air Valve open. This allows air pressure to flow into the Aftertreament
Hydrocarbon Dosing Module. The ECM then sends a PWM signal to the Aftertreatment
Hydrocarbon Dosing Valve that allows purge air pressure to be monitored by a signal from the
Aftertreatment Fuel Pressure Sensor to the ECM.
Conditions for diagnostic trouble code (DTC):
1) Voltage above normal or shorted high
Diagnostic operating conditions
1) Output activated
Observable symptoms
1) Regeneration not possible
Probable cause
1) Connector
2) Engine wiring harness
3) Aftertreatment Hydrocarbon Dosing Module
4) Engine Control Module (ECM).
