Description: Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor Signal Not Plausible
Troubleshooting:
DESCRIPTION:
This fault code sets when the motor control module (MCM) detects that the intake manifold
temperature is greater than 20°C (36°F) from the expected temperature after the engine has
ben turned off for 8 hours.
MONITORED PARAMETER:
Intake manifold temperature.
TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:
1. Key on.
2. Engine off.
3. Battery voltage greater than 11.08 volts.
4. Engine rpm at zero.
5. Ambient temperature less than 40°C (104°F).
6. Engine off for no less than 8 hours.
MONITOR SEQUENCE:
None
EXECUTION FREQUENCEY:
Once per cool down cycle.
TYPCIAL DURATION:
5 seconds
DASH LAMPS:
MIL
ENGINE REACTION:
1. 25% Derate
2. Regen disabled
VERIFICATION:
Road test the vehicle for 30 minutes until the coolant reaches operating temperature. Then
verify that the intake manifold temperature is within 10°C (18°F) of the charge air cooler outlet
temperature.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
1. Common Powertrain Controller (CPC) needs reprogramming.
2. Damaged pins.
3. Bent pins.
4. Spread pins.
5. Broken pins.
6. Pushed out pins.
7. Corroded pins.
8. Damaged wire.
9. Faulty intake manifold temperature sensor.
10. Faulty intake manifold temperature harness pig tail.

Description: Charge Air Cooler Efficiency Low
Troubleshooting:
DESCRIPTION:
This fault code sets when the charge air cooler (CAC) outlet temperature is greater than the
modeled temperature.
MONITORED PARAMETER:
Charge air cooler outlet temperature.
TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:
Ambient temperature greater than -8°C (17.6°F)
MONITOR SEQUENCE:
None
EXECUTION FREQUENCEY:
Always enabled
TYPCIAL DURATION:
10 seconds
DASH LAMPS:
1. MIL
2. CEL
ENGINE REACTION:
10% derate
VERIFICATION:
Road test the vehicle with the engine speed between 900 and 1650 rpm.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
1. Low vehicle speed with high engine load.
2. External CAC restriction.
3. Internal CAC restriction.

Description: Intake Manifold Temperature Drift-High Box
Troubleshooting:
DESCRIPTION:
This fault code sets once the Motor Control Module (MCM) detects a difference between
Compressor Inlet Temperature and Intake Manifold Temperature.
MONITORED PARAMETER:
Intake manifold temperature.
TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:
Fault monitor is run when the engine is in coasting conditions between 500 and 1500 rpm, for
at least five seconds.
MONITOR SEQUENCE:
Always when enabling conditions are met.
EXECUTION FREQUENCEY:
Always
TYPCIAL DURATION:
N/A
DASH LAMPS:
MIL
ENGINE REACTION:
None
VERIFICATION:
Engine has to be in coasting conditions between 500 rpm and 1500 rpm for five seconds for
the monitoring conditions to be active.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
1. Faulty/damaged clamps.
2. Damaged seals.
3. Bent pins.
4. Spread pins.
5. Corroded pins.
6. Faulty intake manifold temperature sensor and pigtail harness.
