Troubleshooting:
DESCRIPTION:
This fault code sets when the motor control module (MCM) detects that the engine oil
temperature is greater than 20°C
(36°F) degrees from the expected temperature after the engine has been turned off for 8 hours.
MONITORED PARAMETER:
Engine oil temperature.
TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:
1. Key on.
2. Engine off.
3. Battery voltage greater than 11 volts.
4. Engine rpm at zero.
5. Ambient temperature less than 40°C (104°F).
6. Ignition off for no less than 8 hours.
MONITOR SEQUENCE:
None
EXECUTION FREQUENCEY:
Once per cold soak cycle.

5 seconds

VERIFICATION:
Road test the vehicle for 30 minutes until the coolant reaches operating temperature. Then
verify that the engine oil temperature is within 20°C (36°F) of the engine coolant outlet

1. Reprogramming or time change to the CPC.
2. Usage of an external or aftermarket heating unit.
3. Damaged or corroded sensor connectors
4. Failed sensor.
