Make: International
Engine: MaxxForce DT (2010 & Newer)
PID: N/A
SPN: 27
FMI: 14
Description: EGR internal circuit failure
Troubleshooting:
The Exhaust Gas Recirulation valve is a part of the EGR system that is used to reduce the
formation of NOX. The Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve recirulates exhaust back into the
intake stream. Exhaust gases that have already burned do not burn again which cools
combustion and reduces NOX.
Probable causes:
1) EGR valve unable to seat closed
2) Stuck or sticking EGR valve

Engine: MaxxForce DT (2010 & Newer)
PID: N/A
SPN: 51
FMI: 0
Description: Engine Throttle Position (ETP) fault: Over temperature
Troubleshooting:
The Engine Throttle Valve (ETV) regulates how much air enters the engine. The valve opens
and closes to allow for more or less air intake as engine conditions require.
Probable causes:
1) Charge Air Cooler (CAC) under cooling
2) Sensor or valve failure
3) Interstage cooler under cooling
4) Engine overheat

Description: ETP does not agree with commanded position
Troubleshooting:
The Engine Throttle Valve (ETV) regulates how much air enters the engine. The valve opens

Probable causes:
1) ETP signal fault
2) Engine Throttle Valve (ETV) failure

Description: ETP signal Out of Range HIGH
Troubleshooting:
The Engine Throttle Valve (ETV) regulates how much air enters the engine. The valve opens
and closes to allow for more or less air intake as engine conditions require.
Probable causes:
1) Failed ETP feedback sensor
2) ETP signal Short Circuit to Battery
3) ETP signal return open
