Make: International
Engine: MaxxForce DT (2010 & Newer)
PID: N/A
SPN: 2791
FMI: 4

Description: EGR valve communication fault
Troubleshooting:
The Exhaust Gas Recirulation valve is a part of the EGR system that is used to reduce the
formation of NOX. The Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve recirulates exhaust back into the
intake stream. Exhaust gases that have already burned do not burn again which cools
combustion and reduces NOX.
Probable causes:
1) EGR valve defective power connection
2) High resistance contacts
3) Low battery voltage
4) Defective charging system

Probable causes:
1) EGR valve motor internal duty cycle > 95 %
2) EGR valve motor stuck
3) Deposits on EGR valve
4) Stuck or sticking EGR valve

combustion and reduces NOX.
Probable causes:
1) EGR-C circuit fault
2) Failed EGR valve

Probable causes:
1) EGR valve unable to seat closed
2) Stuck or sticking EGR valve
