Description: Inlet NOx Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Bank 1 Sensor 1
Troubleshooting:
DESCRIPTION:
Goal of this diagnostic is to detect the engine out lambda signal lower than expected in engine
no-fueling mode.
MONITORED PARAMETER:
Inlet NOx sensor
TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:
1. Engine at 1200 to 1800 rpm.
2. Above 40% load.
3. In DEF dosing mode.
4. Coolant temperature above 65°C (149°F).
5. Ambient air temperature above -18°C (0°F).
6. Ambient pressure above 752 mbar (10.9 psi).
7. Not in EGR mode.
8. Not in regen mode.
MONITOR SEQUENCE:
Inlet NOx sensor vs. outlet NOx sensor.
EXECUTION FREQUENCEY:
Continuous when enabling conditions met.
TYPCIAL DURATION:
1.2 seconds
DASH LAMPS:
MIL
ENGINE REACTION:
None
VERIFICATION:
1. Road test at operating temperature with engine above 1200 rpm.
2. Above 40% load.
3. DEF dosing mode.
4. Not in regen or EGR mode.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
1. Faulty EGR system.
2. Signs of leaks or damage to the entire air inlet, Charge Air Cooler (CAC), and EGR piping
and hose.
3. Exhaust leaks or damage to the Aftertreatment System (ATS).
4. Diesel fuel or oil contamination.
5. DEF tank and the DEF system may need clean/flushing.
6. Faulty DEF dosing unit.
7. May need a parked regen.
8. Faulty SCR inlet NOx sensor.
9. DEF build-up in the exhaust.
10. Drifted SCR temperature sensor.
