SPN: 3250
FMI: 7
Description: Diesel Oxidation Catalyst Outlet Temperature Response Error
Troubleshooting:
NOTE: This fault code sets when the difference between the diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC)
outlet temperature and ambient air temperature (in the ACM) is less than 35°C (95°F) after the
engine has been running continuously for 40 minutes.
MONITORED PARAMETER:
DOC Outlet Temperature, Ambient Air Temperature (ACM).
DESCRIPTION:
DOC outlet temperature response error.
TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:
Engine running for more than 40 minutes.
MONITOR SEQUENCE:
None
EXECUTION FREQUENCEY:
Continuous when enabling conditions met.
TYPCIAL DURATION:
5 seconds
DASH LAMPS:
1. MIL
2. CEL
ENGINE REACTION:
None
VERIFICATION:
Run the engine at idle for 40 minutes.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
1. Faulty DOC outlet temperature sensor.
2. No exhaust flow through the aftertreatment system (ATS).

PID: N/A
SPN: 3250
FMI: 8
Description: Diesel Oxidation Catalyst Outlet Temperature – Signal Spike
Troubleshooting:
DESCRIPTION:
This fault indicates the aftertreatment control module (ACM) has detected a sudden
temperature shift on the diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) outlet temperature shift.
MONITORED PARAMETER:
Fan speed sensor.
TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:
DOC outlet temperature greater than 150°C (302°F).
MONITOR SEQUENCE:
None
EXECUTION FREQUENCEY:
None
TYPCIAL DURATION:
10 seconds
DASH LAMPS:
1. CEL
2. MIL
ENGINE REACTION:
None
VERIFICATION:
Low temp ATD check.
NOTE: The most likely cause is an intermittent wiring concern (poor terminal fit, corrosion,
chaffing etc.).
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
1. Faulty DOC outlet temperature sensor.
2. Faulty Diesel Oxidation Catalyst Outlet Temperature Sensor.
