Make: International
Engine: MaxxForce DT (2010 & Newer)
PID: N/A
SPN: 3251
FMI: 14
Description: DPFDP sensor pressure hoses reversed
Troubleshooting:
The purpose of the Aftertreatment (AFT) System is to catalyze carbon monoxide (CO), Oxides
of Nitrogen (NOx), and Hydrocarbons (HC). The Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) will capture
soot and other particulates exiting the exhaust pipe. Once the DPF is full, it is heated and the
soot trapped inside is burned more efficiently than an exhaust system without an AFT system.
Probable causes:
1) Reversed DPFDP hoses
2) Restriction in prefilter hose
3) Biased, damage, or faulty sensor or circuit
4) Missing DPF

Description: DPFDP excessively LOW (Sensor/circuit fault or missing DPF)

PID: N/A
SPN: 3387
FMI: 20
Description: Cyl 1 Balance maximum limit exceeded
Troubleshooting:
The ECM uses a Cylinder Balance control strategy to even the power contribution of the
cylinders, particularly at low idle conditions. This strategy incorporates information The
Electronic Control Module (ECM) uses a Cylinder Balance control strategy which uses
information from the Crankcase Position (CKP) system to even the power contribution of the
cylinders. The ECM uses the engine speed near Top Dead Center (TDC) for each cylinder to
indicate that cylinder’s power contribution. The ECM uses these readings to deliver more or
less fuel to each cylinder to keep the cylinders in balance.
Probable causes:
1) Low Fuel Pressure
2) Aerated fuel
3) Contaminated fuel
4) Base engine compression imbalance
5) Failed injector (Mechanical)
