Make: International
Engine: MaxxForce DT (2010 & Newer)
PID: N/A
SPN: 3471
FMI: 10

Description: AFT Fuel Doser Valve abnormal rate of change
Troubleshooting:
The Aftertreatment Fuel Doser (AFTFD) is supplied with pressurized fuel from the fuel filter
housing. When a regeneration is required, The Doser Control Unit (DCU) sends voltage to the
AFTFD to inject fuel into the turbo exhaust pipe.
Probable causes:
1) AFTFD failure

Description: AFT Fuel Doser Valve short to PWR
Troubleshooting:
The Aftertreatment Fuel Doser (AFTFD) is supplied with pressurized fuel from the fuel filter
housing. When a regeneration is required, The Doser Control Unit (DCU) sends voltage to the
AFTFD to inject fuel into the turbo exhaust pipe.
Probable causes:
1) Aftertreatment Fuel Doser (AFTFD) circuit short to PWR
2) Failed AFTFD

Description: AFT Fuel Doser Valve short to GND
Troubleshooting:
The Aftertreatment Fuel Doser (AFTFD) is supplied with pressurized fuel from the fuel filter
housing. When a regeneration is required, The Doser Control Unit (DCU) sends voltage to the
AFTFD to inject fuel into the turbo exhaust pipe.
Probable causes:
1) AFTFD circuit open or short to GND
2) Failed AFTFD

FMI: 5

Description: AFT fuel doser valve open / load circuit
Troubleshooting:
The Aftertreatment Fuel Doser (AFTFD) is supplied with pressurized fuel from the fuel filter
housing. When a regeneration is required, The Doser Control Unit (DCU) sends voltage to the
AFTFD to inject fuel into the turbo exhaust pipe.
Probable causes:
1) Short to GND on low side
2) Internally shorted actuator
