Description: Inlet Manifold Pressure Low
Troubleshooting:
DESCRIPTION:
Compare actual to desired boost pressure. When the difference exceeds a calibrated
threshold, the fault is set.
MONITORED PARAMETER:
Intake manifold pressure.
TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:
1. Engine speed between 1130 rpm and 1650 rpm.
2. Torque greater than 1250 n·m (921 lb ft).
3. Coolant temperature greater than 65°C (149°F).
4. Barometric pressure greater than 755 mbar (10.9 psi).
5. Ambient temperature greater than -8°C (17.6°F).
6. Engine speed gradient between -10 rpm/sec and +10 rpm/sec.
7. Fuel mass gradient between -10 mg/st and +10 mg/st.
MONITOR SEQUENCE:
After enabling conditions are met, a 15 second stability time is followed by a 10 calculation of
the manifold pressure error.
EXECUTION FREQUENCEY:
Every 10 seconds after the stability time has been met.
TYPCIAL DURATION:
25 seconds
DASH LAMPS:
1. MIL
2. CEL
ENGINE REACTION:
None
VERIFICATION:
At operating temperature of 71°C (160°F). Drive at highway speed with loaded trailer above
1130 rpm continuously for five minutes.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
1. Air blockages in the front grill, winter fronts, plows, or large hose reels.

2. Faulty intake manifold pressure/temperature sensor.
3. Bent pins.
4. Spread pins.
5. Corroded pins.
