Description: Barometric Pressure and Intake Manifold Pressure Rationality Error
Troubleshooting:
DESCRIPTION:
This fault code sets when the difference between barometric pressure and intake manifold
pressure sensors is larger than a calibrated threshold.
MONITORED PARAMETER:
Barometric pressure and intake manifold pressure.
TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:
Ignition off for a minimum of 30 minutes, then turn the ignitions to the on position. Engine
speed less than 250 rpm.
MONITOR SEQUENCE:
None
EXECUTION FREQUENCEY:
Continuous when enabling conditions met.
TYPCIAL DURATION:
One second
DASH LAMPS:
1. MIL
2. CEL
ENGINE REACTION:
25% derate
VERIFICATION:
Ignition off for 30 minutes, then turn ignition on with the engine not running.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
1. Faulty MCM.
2. Faulty intake manifold pressure sensor and the electrical connector on the harness.
3. Damaged pins.

Description: Intake Manifold Pressure Too High
Troubleshooting:
DESCRIPTION:
This fault code sets when the motor control module (MCM) detects that the difference between
the commanded boost pressure and the actual boost pressure exceeds a calibrated threshold.
MONITORED PARAMETER:
Intake manifold pressure.
TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:
Engine speed between 1130 and 1650 rpm, engine coolant temperature greater than 65°C
(149°F).
MONITOR SEQUENCE:
When the enabling conditions are met.
EXECUTION FREQUENCEY:
Continuous
TYPCIAL DURATION:
25 seconds
DASH LAMPS:
MIL
ENGINE REACTION:
None
VERIFICATION:
Once engine coolant temperature is greater than 65°C (149°F) drive at highway speed with
loaded trailer above 1130 rpm continuously for five minutes.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
1. MCM needs software update.
2. Fault MCM.
3. Faulty intake manifold pressure sensor and electrical connector.
4. Damaged pins.
5. Faulty DOC inlet pressure sensor.
6. Faulty DPF inlet pressure sensor.
7. Faulty turbocharger.
8. Faulty ATD.
9. DOC face needs cleaning.
