Description: Injector Cylinder #1 Needle Control Valve, Abnormal Operation (MAX) Cold
Troubleshooting:
DESCRIPTION:
This code will set when the Needle solenoid current response time does not meet requirement.
MONITORED PARAMETER:
1. Injector cylinder #1 needle control valve current.
2. Engine is running in cold mode.
TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:
This mode cannot be seen through the diagnostic tool. This mode is activated from a
calculated value that includes a table value (Charge Air Cooler Out vs. Coolant temperatures).
Verification will ensure all conditions are met.
MONITOR SEQUENCE:
None
EXECUTION FREQUENCEY:
Continuous
TYPCIAL DURATION:
5 sec
DASH LAMPS:
1. MIL
2. CEL
ENGINE REACTION:
1. 25% derate.
2. DPF inhibit regeneration.
VERFICATION:
Let the engine cold soak to room temperature. Start engine and warm up to operating
temperature (or 65°C (149°F)).
NOTE: Injector chart PDF available on DDCSN/SUPPORT/SPECIALIZED SERVICE.
NOTE: Faults are listed in diagnostic priority from top to bottom.
NOTE: DO NOT touch the metal ohmmeter leads with your hands when taking measurements.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
1. Faulty wiring.
2. Bent pins.
3. Spread pins.
4. Damaged connector seal.
5. Faulty injector with the out-of-range resistance.
6. Corroded pins.
7. Unseated pins.
8. Faulty engine side harness.
