PID: N/A
SPN: 96
FMI: 19

Description: Fuel Level Sensor Missing or Not Available
Troubleshooting:
DESCRIPTION:
This fault indicates a missing fuel level signal at the Common Powertrain Controller (CPC).
MONITORED PARAMETER:
Fuel level status byte.
TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:
Always enabled.
MONITOR SEQUENCE:
None
EXECUTION FREQUENCEY:
Continuous when enabling conditions met.
TYPCIAL DURATION:
10 seconds
DASH LAMPS:
CEL
ENGINE REACTION:
None
VERIFICATION:
Key cycle
NOTE: Fuel level sensor is hardwired to instrument cluster. Fuel level signal is multiplexed
from instrument cluster to the CPC.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
1. Faulty battery voltage.
2. Faulty Controller Area Network (CAN) line.
3. Common Powertrain Controller (CPC) needs reprogramming.

Description: Water-in-Fuel Warning
Troubleshooting:
DESCRIPTION:
Fault logs once the water in fuel sensor detects a certain level of water.
MONITORED PARAMETER:
Water in fuel sensor.
TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:
Always on.
MONITOR SEQUENCE:
None
EXECUTION FREQUENCEY:
Continuous
TYPCIAL DURATION:
90 seconds
DASH LAMPS:
WIF Light
ENGINE REACTION:
None
VERIFICATION:
Two minute idle.
NOTE: This fault code will set if Water in Fuel (WIF) sensor detects water in the fuel after a five
-hour driving cycle or three engine-start, key-ON cycles.
NOTICE: Do not over-tighten the water drain valve. Failure to properly tighten the water drain
valve may cause damage to the water drain valve and housing.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
1. Fuel contamination.
2. Frame-mounted filter need cleaning/flushing procedure.
